In response to a recommendation by the Newport Township Community Organization to initiate a demolition program for dilapidated homes, garages, and sheds throughout the community, Newport Township has secured a $125,000.00 County Grant for Community Development. Newport Township Municipal Authority began working towards demolition at the end of 2005 also providing all soft costs related to this project. Thank You to the dedicated volunteers in getting the job done. Listed below are results of the hard work put into this project.

August 17, 2006, the VFW 110 W Main St., Glen Lyon, has been torn down after the collapsed on July 22, 2006.
