Welcome

Thank You for visiting the Newport Township Community Organization's Website in Luzerne County, PA

  The Beginning....
In May 2004 the Newport Township Board of Commissioners met for their regular monthly meeting and a discussion took place on ways to revitalize the community.  Twenty people committed to help in this effort.  On May 17th a public meeting was held to seek additional resident input. As a result, the Newport Township Community Organization was formed.

Today, it continues as an independent, not-for-profit, public charity organization which is led by a dedicated, hardworking group of concerned Newport Township Citizens.  New members are welcomed to join and encouraged to help our cause.

NTCO, Weinberg Regional Food Bank and the Newport Township American Legion Auxiliary Unit 539 are working together to host a Food Distribution in Newport Township.

Due to Thanksgiving Holiday Novembers food distribution will be held on Wednesday November 16th, same time same place.
